Clementina Arts Foundation
About Us
Our Mission
From studio to museum
We exist to uplift and empower our community by supporting emerging artists' careers from the studio-level to the museum-level, both locally and internationally.
What We Do
Three Core Programs
01
Kid+Contemporary
Provides young people ages 10–17 with access to private art collections and lunches with collectors, opening doors to the art world that are typically closed to younger audiences.
02
Sprouting Spaces
Offers affordable studio space to emerging and mid-career artists by partnering with landlords who have available commercial properties, transforming vacant spaces into thriving creative studios.
03
Special Support Museum Project Funding
Assists museums with funding for special projects that fall outside their regular operating budgets, ensuring important exhibitions and initiatives can move forward.
Our Story
A decade of creative stewardship
Clementina emerged from the Alvarez Gallery, which launched Sprouting Spaces in 2011 following the 2008 financial crisis. By negotiating commercial space with conscious landlords, the program turned economic hardship into creative opportunity—providing artists with the affordable studios they needed to sustain and grow their practices.
