Clementina Arts Foundation and Connecticut Post Mall Announce Call for Applications

Clementina Arts Foundation and Connecticut Post Mall, the state’s largest shopping mall, are encouraging local artists to apply for their 2023 Sprouting Spaces artist-in-residence program. Now entering its second year at Connecticut Post Mall, the program will award a one-year residency including studio space and a $100 monthly stipend for art supplies.
The foundation partnered with Connecticut Post Mall in 2022, opening in a vacant retail space on the mall’s lower level next to the Black Business Alliance state headquarters. Multi-media artist Daniel Ramos was awarded the 2022 residency.
Kelly Hapken, Senior Marketing Director, shared: “Getting to see an artist’s process first-hand as one-of-a-kind works of art are brought to life has been such a unique experience we’re proud to offer.”
Fernando Luis Alvarez added: “The Sprouting Space program is important because it not only solves emerging artists’ number one problem which is being able to afford studio space, but the winner also benefits from the exposure to the community.”
Applications are due by May 8, 2023. A jury of curators, museum directors, and art collectors reviews submissions.
