Chilean Artist Finds Inspiration In COVID-19 And His Native Country For Stamford Exhibit

Chilean artist Carlos Bautista Biernnay

Chilean artist Carlos Bautista Biernnay is displaying tapestry artwork at Stamford Town Center. His project draws inspiration from the pandemic experience.

“I constructed it as a movie billboard because I felt like I was in a movie...My starting point is a nightmare and then I move it towards a dream, which is to signify when this (pandemic) is all over,” Biernnay explains.

The artist transitions from darker pandemic themes toward more hopeful imagery, symbolizing recovery.
